The managing director of Overit Media, Jen Graybeal, lost several kilos in the lead-up to her friend’s wedding by introducing hourly exercises in her workplace, American magazine, FastCompany, reports.
When Graybeal discovered she did not fit into the bridesmaid’s dress her friend had bought for her – she’d recently had a baby – Gaybeal got her office of 30-odd staff involved in a powerwalk at lunchtime.
Then the program grew. Every hour, staff are allowed to stop for two minutes of exercise or stretching and even dancing – freestyle! Some are regulars and some are not, but the office found the practice of short bursts of exercise made them feel more energetic, creative and productive.
