There’ll be no more odd socks around the house once tagging technology moves into the home, tech experts say.
The technology is already being used to track mobile phones and electronic gadgets, and by retail systems to track stock in warehouses.
Skygistics is a Perth-based company also utilising tagging technology.
“[Our products] combine state-of-the-art internet, satellite and GSM communications systems with Global Positioning System and electronic tagging technology,” the company website states.
“Imagine knowing where your assets are anywhere on the continent, at any time, at the touch of a button.”
“We operate in a wide variety of markets – providing solutions ranging from ‘track and trace’ of vehicles, aircraft, shipping, and containers moving between continents – to even monitoring laptops being moved from one room in a building to another anywhere in the world.”
The use of tagging technology in the home is inevitable as the practice becomes more widespread and affordable. Does this represent a new business opportunity for entrepreneurs?
