How to uninstall programs on a Mac

Tech TrickIf you want to uninstall a program on your Mac, then it’s a little different than uninstalling something on a Windows machine.

Most Mac users will want to drag-and-drop something into the trash to remove an application, but there’s actually a different way to do this.

Whenever you install a new program, (which usually ends in the .app extension), a type of “bundle” is created. Whenever you look for a program in the applications folder, the icon you see is a folder of other files.

To uninstall these, drag and drop them into the trash icon.

However, sometimes there are leftover files you need to get rid of. Most of these can be found in the library/preferences folder, and need to be deleted whenever you uninstall a program.
