Give thanks

The Taskmaster says give thanksThe wind-up week is well and truly in full swing. Christmas parties are on, your staff disappear at lunchtime and return laden with shopping bags, and watching the cricket has become an important office task.

Of course, while the staff are starting to slack off just a touch, the business owner is running around like a secret agent running out of time to save the world!

No matter how busy you are though, this is the time that you need to spend a few minutes saying a proper thanks to the people who have helped you through the year, including staff, key advisers, mentors and other supporters.

If you haven’t done so already, a small gift with a note of thanks is a great way to show your appreciation. If you can’t afford a gift, a note or a phone call will suffice.

The key thing here is to show to staff that you are personally grateful for their hard work, and excited about the year ahead.

Many staff will appreciate a five minute chat more than any crappy Christmas hamper anyway!

Get it done – today!
