Leaving the country without your mobile phone is almost an unspeakable act for a business owner, but entrepreneurs should be aware these gadgets carry hefty charges when used outside of their home country.
Vodafone New Zealand announced last week it will cut the price of its data roaming charges in Australia from $10 per megabyte to $5 megabyte.
But these charges are still expensive, and Australian entrepreneurs should be aware of their own data roaming charges when heading overseas by themselves or with staff.
Businesses should first check the data roaming charges for their telco, and then keep calls and data downloads to a minimum when overseas. Business owners should also impress upon staff who are travelling to make sure data roaming is kept to a minimum, or else you will face significant charges.
