Microsoft has given the world a glimpse of what Windows 10 will look like for phones and tablets smaller than eight inches, Engadget reports.
The Start Screen experience is nearly identical to its predecessor, but plenty of other things have changed. Recently installed apps live at the top of your app launcher for easier prominence and the new Action Centre syncs with your PC.
Microsoft also showed off some of its universal apps – apps that will run on desktops, phones, tablets and the Xbox. As developers haven’t had much time to start work on those universal apps, Microsoft demoed cross-platform version of Office apps. For more details, head over to Microsoft.
Uber raises $1.6 billion in convertible debt
Transportation network startup Uber has raised $1.6 billion in convertible debt from Goldman Sach’s clients to help fund its international expansion, sources tell Bloomberg.
Uber is also still in talks to raise $600 million from hedge funds and international strategic investors, adding to the $1.2 billion in financing it raised last month.
Dropbox buys Israeli startup CloudOn
Cloud-storage startup Dropbox has closed a deal to acquire CloudOn, a developer of mobile productivity tools, The Wall Street Journal reports.
CloudOn has an engineering hub in Israel and the startup’s staff of roughly 30 employees will join Dropbox, with its offices becoming a base for Dropbox’s aggressive hiring in the region.
