Christmas cards are great, everybody loves to get them – but invariably, once the Christmas cheer has faded, most people chuck out all but a special few.
According to Techcrunch, however, a card company called ReProduct has dedicated itself to creating a virtuous cycle of Christmas giving. Its cards – they also produce birthday and greeting cards – come with a two-way prepaid envelope. That means instead of chucking the card out, once the special day has passed the person who has received the card can then reverse the envelope, put in the card, and send it back ReProduct.
And no, they don’t just white-out your personal note and sell the card on to the next person. They go to a company called Shaw Industries where they are recycled into carpet tiles – taking you from cards that greet to the stuff under your feet.
