Australians lose interest in Second Life

Australian visits to the virtual world Second Life peaked mid last year.

Just 10,885 Australians logged on in January, 2.2% up on December but well short of the 14,832 that visited in July 2007, reports The Australian Financial Review.

On the upside for the companies like Australian Broadcasting Corporation, IBM and Telstra, which have spent millions on developing resources in Second Life, those that have embraced the virtual world are a bit addicted.

Locals spent an average of 50 hours a month each on the site.
