Google rolls out centralised privacy and account management hub

Google has launched a website that integrates security and privacy account settings for users across the company’s services, which also includes a privacy dashboard to show users how they use the company’s services and adjust their preferences.

The website, called My Account, allows users to download their data or move it to another service, permit a friend of relative to access their account if it is left unattended for a particular period of time, and adjust preferences for users’ ads.

Key features of the service are the Privacy Checkup and Security Checkup, which guide users step-by-step through the main privacy and security settings.

The service can also be used to adjust account recovery and sign-in methods, check the devices recently used to access Google services, block access to the company’s services from a lost or stolen device, or delete a Google account.

Alongside My Account, Google has also launched a website discussing how it uses the information it collects from users.
