Australian Entertainment Logistics has collapsed into administration.
Gideon Rathner of Lowe Lippmann was appointed as AEL’s administrator on October 16.
AEL had been in operation since 2011 with the slogan “We understand the show must go on”.
Its website says the New South Wales business provides a “new and innovative option for concert touring trucks and air-freight services”.
AEL specialises in moving show freight and its staff are experienced in the entertainment and touring industry.
“We understand that producing shows and moving freight can be demanding and last-minute additions and changes are all part of the challenges and nature of show business,” AEL’s website states.
AEL’s administration follows the collapse earlier this year of transport and logistics company Roadwise Transport Group.
Roadwise had a turnover of over $10 million a year and employed 50 people.
IBISWorld analyst Caroline Finch previously told SmartCompanythe transport industry is under a significant amount of pressure.
“There are very low barriers to entry at the bottom level, which means there are a lot of small players coming in and out, which keeps price margins pretty low,” she says.
“There is also consolidation happening, with bigger trucks and the productivity gains there, they can squeeze a few operators out.”
SmartCompany contacted Lowe Lippmann for comment but did not receive a response prior to publication.
A creditors meeting will be held on October 27.
