2000 premises in Tasmania gain NBN access, while Gosford residents have two months to switch over

The NBN Co is switching on access to an additional 2000 homes and businesses in parts of Bellerive in Tasmania, as residents in parts of Gosford are warned they have two months to switch over to the NBN.

The latest announcement comes just days after Tasmania’s peak internet lobby group, TasICT, complained some businesses in Hobart CBD had waited over a year to get NBN services since placing their initial orders.

In a statement, NBN Co spokesperson Lalla Mackenzie encourages small businesses in Bellerive to contact their internet service providers in order to switch over.

“Homes and businesses in Bellerive can now take advantage of the NBN, joining more than 21,000 residents and businesses already reaping the benefits of fast and reliable broadband as we continue the network rollout across Tasmania,” Mackenzie says.

Meanwhile, small businesses in parts of Gosford are being warned they have until October 2014 to arrange to switch their services over to the NBN.

Affected premises are in the area east of Narara Creek and east of Pacific Highway, near Gosford Racecourse, Gosford Hospital and Waterview Park, as well as some properties near Henry Parry Drive and Bay View Avenue.
