Apple’s iPod music package deal

Apple is considering bundling full access to its full iTunes library with purchases of the iPod or iPhone.

According to FT.com, Apple is talking to big music companies about putting together a premium music package that iPod buyers could pay extra to subscribe to.

The model could either involve full free access for the life of a device, or a subscription that could involve access to up to 40 or 50 tracks a year.

According to FT.com, the viability of the deal will hang on whether a dispute over the price Apple will pay for access to record labels’ libraries can be resolved.
