Telstra begins taking Samsung Galaxy S5 pre-orders for business plan customers

Telecommunications giant Telstra has begun taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone for its business customers.

While both Optus and Telstra have been taking residential customer orders for the Android smartphone since February, business customers have had to wait until now to place their orders.

In a statement, the carrier promotes the business benefits of Samsung’s forthcoming flagship.

“It was as if the Samsung Galaxy S5 was designed for all your business needs. Slightly bigger than its predecessor, it comes with a larger screen and textured back that’ll look the part on any boardroom table.

“But it’s the security features, tougher exterior and improved battery life that really set it apart.”

Unveiled during the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, the Galaxy S5 is the next flagship Android smartphone from South Korean electronics giant Samsung.

It is a waterproof and dust-proof phone built around a 2.5GHz quad-core processor, up from 2.3 GHz quad-core processor in its predecessor, the Galaxy S4, and runs Google Android 4.2.2 KitKat.

The GS5 includes a 5.1-inch full HD AMOLED display with a display resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, again slightly larger than the 4.8-inch display on its predecessor.

GS5 also features a removable 2800 mAh battery, a capacity increase from the 2600 mAh battery in the GS4 and 2100 mAh in the GS3.
