They can’t get a look inside your head if you choose not to speak. Power Players know this and they stay perfectly silent when the situation requires it.
Though we all know that silence is the ultimate weapon of power, most of us find it impossible to keep our mouths closed.

We have good intentions: we think we’ll simply sit there and listen or we’ll say only one or two (very important) things.

What Power Players know is this: there is no halfway house of silence. You either stay silent or you don’t.

If there really is nothing to say, Power Players don’t create a reason to speak. They keep their mouth zipped and they let the others spend their time trying to guess what’s going on inside their head.

And here’s the other real bonus of zipping it: if you’ve no idea what you’re doing, no one else will either.
