Letting somebody else take the wheel is pretty hard for most of us. Yielding to somebody else is not our natural state. Power Players know that sometimes the best course of action is to let someone else do the driving – be that metaphorically or literally.
There is phenomenal power in stepping back and yielding to a better idea, a more talented person or a more strategic course of action. Power doesn’t always mean that you are the one to yield it. It can often mean being the one to give it over to someone else.
This is without question one of the hardest lessons to learn and one of the true talents of an accomplished Power Player.
When you see a Power Player do it, it can be breathtaking in its simplicity. Learn from the best and be the one who understands when to yield.
