There is a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.
Madeleine Albright said it and it’s absolutely true. This one is for the ladies. Powerful women are in a position to help other women become powerful. And they should just do it.
It’s taken hundreds of years for women to strike up some kind of equality and we’re still not there.
For the women who’ve made it to the top, they should reach down and grab as many women as they can and drag them into the main game. It strengthens us all when we can help other women and it also means that we haven’t sold out the sisterhood.
I’ve heard the argument on the other side: that we should operate on merit alone but we’re half the population and surely there’s a whole bunch of talent among the female population? So this argument seems a little redundant.
If you’re a woman and you’re sitting on top of the world, make some room for other talented ladies. There’s a whole bunch of people who are both talented and female.
