The Australian sharemarket traded into the black today, despite falls in major Asian markets.
The ASX200 put on 0.31% to 4411.0, while the broader All Ordinaries index gained 0.32% to 4433.90.
The Australian dollar lifted after the Bank of Japan announced it was extending its bond-buying program, following the announcement of rescue plans in Europe and the USA. It was buying $US1.04725.
