I heard this thoroughly fantastic saying from a Power Player at a bar one night as he protested a martini being poured into a test tube rather than the classic martini glass.
I asked him why and turned to me with gravitas in his voice and said ‘The glass is half the drink’. It is one of the best pieces of wisdom I have ever heard.
When Power Players get busy planning, they never forget that half the job is the anticipation and pitch theatre that comes with unveiling the big plan. Dressing it up isn’t a phony tactic. We can all do with a little bit of drama, fantasy and romance from time to time. Never more so that in the throws of a long business day surrounded by uptight people who look like they’d rather be someplace (any place) else.
The glass is half the drink: what a great saying! It’s straight to the top of my list.
