More and more consumers are actively seeking out skincare solutions that cater to sensitive skin, evident in the popularity of the hashtag #sensitiveskin, which currently boasts over 2 billion views on TikTok, according to Australian skincare brand Alya Skin.

Now Alya Skin is setting a new standard for this growing demand complete with science-backed solutions, with the skincare brand celebrating the complete sell-out of two of its new skincare products online within less than one month of launching.

More than 10,000 units of Alya Skin’s Miracle Moisture and The Calmer Serum were sold in just under a month — with the brand selling one product of each every five minutes.

The Calmer Serum helps to strengthen the skin’s barrier, while the Miracle Moisture is a multi-tasker moisturiser and primer in one.

Both products are currently available on the Alya Skin website and will be stocked in Chemist Warehouse stores from March 2024.

Alya Skin’s global senior brand manager Hazel Whittle said the brand was shocked, amazed and excited at how quickly it sold through the products.

“The Alya Skin Pink Clay Mask set a high bar for us,” she said.

“We’re thrilled to see The Miracle Moisture and The Calmer surpass even our own expectations.

“We are due to launch the two new products through Chemist Warehouse Australia and New Zealand next month, online to our UK customers in the coming weeks and we are in final discussions on working with a well-known retailer in the UAE.

“The new packaging has undoubtedly played a role in catching the consumer’s eye, but it’s the exceptional formulations of these products that have secured their place as customer favourites.”

Whittle added that in the last quarter, the brand has seen an increase of over 50% of consumers online thanks to its latest product innovation.

“And our recent launches have shown us demand is so high that our Sleep Mask sold out in the first three months and our Exfoliating Sorbet hit the number 1 product online in just 14 days,” she said.

Alya Skin’s Miracle Moisture and The Calmer Serum have also received the seal of approval from Kind to Biome.

According to its website, Kind to Biome-marked products are science-based products that consider the health of the skin’s microbiome and recognise products that are skin microbiome-gentle.

Alya Skin’s new product development manager Shinta Huynh said the seal arrives at a moment when consumers worldwide are actively pursuing skincare solutions tailored for sensitive skin.

“The Kind To Biome-approved products for sensitive skin serve as a testament to Alya Skin’s unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality skincare solutions,” Huynh said.

“Each formula is meticulously crafted to consider the skin microbiome and dedicated to providing you with that radiant, dewy complexion we all love.”

With the popularity of the #sensitiveskin hashtag skyrocketing past 2 billion views on TikTok, Huynh said the brand is seeing consumers seek skincare solutions for sensitive skin.

“Additionally, the resonance of #sensitiveskinfriendly with over 15 million views underscores this growing demand,” Huynh said.

“We are constantly exposed to different environments, climate fluctuations, and various skincare practices which can impact our skin barrier resulting in issues like sensitivity, dryness, and acne.

“This year is dedicated to prioritising skin health, with consumers seeking products that not only repair, calm, and hydrate but also promote plump and radiant skin.”

Huynh added that the desire extends beyond gentleness, with consumers now prioritising effectiveness.

“Our introduction of two new scientifically driven formulas incorporates extracts and native ingredients from our home, including Polyglutamic Acid, Kombucha Extract, Probiotics, Tazman Pepper, and Niacinamide,” Huynh said.

“Each formula is carefully curated to deliver the highest-quality skincare solutions.”
