Facebook has continued its buying spree, picking up a San Francisco start-up that helps coordinate discounts offered by a retail store.
The app, called TagTile, provides merchants with a hardware device that users tap with their phone once they check out.
Whenever users tap on the hardware, the retailers’ discount is automatically calculated with the final purchase price.
TagTile said on its website that Facebook is “acquiring substantially all of our assets”, and also said that TagTile “as it exists today won’t be part of what we do at Facebook”.
