Tumblr has hired a new editor-in-chief, it has confirmed to the New York Times, along with a new executive editor to help bump up the site’s editorial content.
Chris Mohney, who was previously senior vice president of content at BlackBook Media, will join former Newsweek senior writer Jessica Bennett in the new editorial team.
The publication stated that the two will work on “ideas, themes and people” content, which will appear on the staff blog and new areas of the site.
The move comes as Tumblr continues to move into new segments of content. The site has exploded over the past two years, and has obtained millions in funding.
