Google discontinuing six services

Google have announced that they will discontinue support for six of its cloud services, including three predominantly targeted at business.

The company claims the services replicate features found in other services, haven’t met business targets, or can’t be integrated into the overall Google experience.

Among the services are three aimed predominantly at business, including the Exchange server backup service Google Message Continuity, the data management platform Needlebase, and a client hosted version of Google Analytics named Urchin.

Google will also discontinue both the Picnik image editing service and the Social Graph API, while Sky Map will be released as an open source project.
