Mr “More than over it’ doesn’t get it!

Dear Aunty B,

I feel sorry for Mr More than over it because he hasn’t been able to pick up on your incredible skills in answering all sorts of queries (and yes, whinges) from those of us who are also “more than over it”, but we still keep going.

Moreover, yes, he missed the many positives that are in the articles; he’s sure got a bad case of the blues. Having been in HR for over 20 years, your good commonsense and unfailing sense of humour are a highlight of my day’s reading. Your graciousness is amazing, even to those who I think are a bit dim (but hey, what would I know?).

So, thank you Aunty B for the way you keep calm while some of us are losing it around you; you help us get centred again and send us on our way with some good advice, heaps of practical tips and best of all, good humour.

Thank you!

Not yet over it by a long shot (with Aunty B’s help)
Launceston

Dear Not yet over it by a long shot,

Me? Keep calm? In the past three days the following has happened… We had a fire a floor below and thought the place might burn down, an intern had a seizure at his desk and I had to administer first aid (I took off his glasses and patted him). And we are in a capital raising and the market keeps crashing. Beam me up Scotty!

In the middle of all this (including boffin’s nasty letter) comes your lovely missive. And you know what? You cheered me up immensely! There you are, a sophisticated woman with 20 years in HR and every day we commune and assist each other across a body of water to JUST GET ON WITH IT. And get on with it we do. Because there is no other way when it comes down to it. And that is a little miracle. So thank you for that.

And yes, some of my dear correspondents are a trifle dim but who am I to judge? We started a capital raising in the middle of the world’s greatest capital crash probably EVER!

Actually, to tell you the truth, it is going very well, the fire was a fizzer (we didn’t even get to go over the shoulders of any burly firemen) and the intern is fine. What is more, Mr More than over is regretting his impetuous, puerile outburst and is wondering what flowers to send me.

Stay smart,
Your Aunty B
