Verizon speaks out on Samsung, Apple legal battles

American telco giant Verizon has spoken out against the ongoing legal battles between Samsung and Apple, saying the move is bad for customers.

According to Reuters, Verizon has written in a court filing that if Apple successfully blocks Samsung products from being sold, it will harm US consumers.

“It also has the possibility of slowing the deployment of next-generation networks — such as Verizon Wireless’s — contrary to the stated goals of the U.S. government,” it said, according to the report.

Apple and Samsung have been battling against each other in court for months, fighting over numerous alleged patent infringements.

Two cases have caused delays in the sale of the Samsung Galaxy tab in both Australia and Europe.
