A Chicago based university will offer discounts for tuition on group buying site Groupon, it has been reported.
National Louis University will offer a deal on the website that will offer prospective teaching students 60% for an entry level course. The price will be cut from $2,232 to $950.
“There are all kinds of factors in the K-12 world that are really discouraging teachers and people seeking teaching degrees,” vice president of marketing and communications Jocelyn Zivin told the Chicago Tribune.
“Part of our mission at National Louis, since the university’s founding 125 years ago, is to identify people of talent who want to be teachers,” she also said. “This is an innovative way to deliver on that mission and reach those folks.”
