DigiTimes has reported that Apple could use two different manufacturers to produce the upcoming iPad 3.
The new model is expected to be released this year, but is not meant to be a full upgrade. Instead it is expected to come with a higher resolution screen with components similar to the iPad 2.
The publication has reported that Pegatron or Quanta may have the contact to manufacture the iPad 3 later this year.
The report predicts that shipments will come in the late third quarter or early fourth quarter, with 13 million units expected to be produced.
