National Australia Bank has launched a new SMS banking service for its customers.
The system allows registered users to view their account balances, receive a mini-statement and even transfer funds between NAB accounts by text message.
NAB says the service is available now and will be free until 1 November this year – apart from the price of the text message of course.
No doubt the move will put a smile on the face of all those well-paid, quick thumbed Gen-Ys out there. As for the rest of us, well, it doesn’t really change things dramatically over phone banking, although the price of a text may well be cheaper than a mobile phone call.
