iPhone alarms silent in the New Year

iPhone users have been hit with a glitch in the New Year, with their gadgets’ alarms refusing to work when the clock hit 2011.

Users have reported that their alarm clocks did not go off on New Years Day. They also remained silent yesterday, many have said, although it is expected the software glitch will be fixed from now on.

The glitch is a repeat of a similar malfunction that occurred last October when iPhone alarms did not operate after daylight savings.

Apple released a statement yesterday saying it was aware of the problem but that it should fix itself.

“We’re aware of an issue related to non-repeating alarms set for January 1 or 2. Customers can set recurring alarms for those dates and all alarms will work properly beginning January 3.”
