Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg has met with Robin Li, the chief executive of Chinese search engine Baidu.
A spokesperson for Baidu has told AFP that Zuckerberg is currently on holiday and has a “well-established” interest in the country.
“He has had a long-standing interest in China. I’m sure he wants to get the advice of someone who knows the internet landscape well here.”
The meeting comes although Facebook, the largest social network in the world, is unable to be accessed within the country.
