Tech giant Apple has purchased 98 acres from Hewlett-Packard in order to expand its offices, according to a report in the Mercury News.
With HP moving ut of the Cupertino area in order to move into Palo Alto, Apple has bought the land in order to expand its growing operations – with some analysts pinning the deal at over $US300 million.
“We now occupy 57 buildings in Cupertino and our campus is bursting at the seams. These offices will give us more space for our employees as we continue to grow,” Apple said in a statement.
The purchase comes as Apple continues to expand, with the company recording over $US20 billion in revenue during the most recent quarter. Analysts also expect new products including freshly revised iPhones and iPads to hit shelves next year.
