With all this talk of News Corp and Richard Branson creating iPad-only magazines, it’s no wonder more and more publications are moving into the tablet space. And this time, it’s The Economist‘s turn.
The publications have now developed electronic versions for both the iPhone and iPad, with both apps remaining free – although if you don’t pay you will only receive an “editor’s selection” of content.
You’ll need to set up an online account to access the content, but from there you’ll be able to browse and read articles from the latest issues. You can even access it when you’re not connected to the internet, as the app caches content regularly.
If you want to subscribe, individual issues will cost $US5.99 each, or a 12 month subscription will be available for $US110.
A full audio audition is also available within the app itself.
