Pay television provider Foxtel will offer a chopped down version of its pay television service to Australian Xbox users in a new joint venture.
The service, available in November to Xbox Live Gold account holders with a minimum of 1.5Mbps home broadband speed will see users able to access 11 of Foxtel’s 150 channels for a $20 a month fee for the basic package.
Users will be able to add movies and on-demand content to their service, with new release movies priced at $5.95 and movies from Foxtel’s library costing $3.95.
The pricing for the basic package is cheaper than that offered for iiNet’s fledgling internet TV service, FetchTV, which costs $30 a month plus $99 for the FetchTV box.
