Electronics giant Sony has released a new range of eReaders, to be launched in Australia next week.
The company said it will be launching a new touchscreen to the Reader Pocket Edition, which will use a sensor to read finger gestures, or taps from users.
Both the Daily Edition and Touch Edition eReader models will now come with the same touchscreen technology and e-ink as the Pocket, along with two gigabytes of memory.
“Today, we’re excited to announce not just the availability of the Reader Touch Edition and Pocket Edition in the countries we already serve but also plans to expand the Reader line to previously untapped markets,” Sony digital reading business division president Steve Haber said in a statement.
“We take a thoughtful approach to country expansion, including Italy, Spain, Australia, Japan and China, working with local bookstores to ensure content is compatible, relevant and in the appropriate language for each market.”
However, some users will have to miss out – the Daily Edition won’t be available in Australia.
