Tech giant Apple is planning a press announcement for next Wednesday, September 1, the focus of which will be updates to the company’s music products including iPods and iTunes, it has been reported.
Various tech publications including TechCrunch and Engadget have received invitations to the event, which will be held in San Francisco.
The announcement comes after rumours have surfaced regarding a new iPod Touch, which will reportedly feature a new retina display and a front-facing camera.
It is also expected there will be an iTunes update, along with possibly introduction of the company’s suspected new iTV gadget.
Some publications have also reported a cloud-based iTunes service will be launched, but it is unknown whether this will appear next week, or at a separate event.
