Apple bans app maker from iTunes

Tech giant Apple has confirmed it banned Vietnamese programmer Thuat Nguyen from the App Store due to fraudulent activities.

“Developer Thuat Nguyen and his apps were removed from the App Store for violating the developer Program License Agreement, including fraudulent purchase patterns,” Apple said in a statement.

Various blogs including Engadget.com have reported that programs developed by Nguyen managed to enter 42 positions in the top 50 in the App Store.

Engadget said it received several reports from users that several hundreds of dollars had been used from their accounts buy the apps. However, Apple said affected users whose “credit card or iTunes password is stolen and used on iTunes” should both contact their appropriate bank or financial institution and change their password.
