Telstra has finally backed down and announced it wil offer naked DSL broadband services.
The telco has confirmed to ZDnet a trial of the technology that offers ADSL broadband without a phone line will occur over the next four to six weeks.
While competitors such as Internode and iiNet have offered the service for years, Telstra has been slower to offer similar products.
Telstra are reportedly offering one plan on the trial, a $59.95 per month service, with 25GB included downloads, shaped to 64Kbp and those who sign up will be contracted for two years.
Telstra will offer two services, one without a phone line at all and one with a phone service that will be able to take inbound calls but only make emergency calls out.
The telco giant has launched a sign up page for the trial and expect for a few thousand services to be signed up over the coming weeks.
