Software maker Mozilla is set to bring Firefox to the iPhone, but not in the way users might have hoped.
The upcoming Firefox Home app will allow users to sync their browsing history with their desktop. Users can sync over their browsing history, bookmarks, and the set of tabs from their most recent browsing session.
While the app isn’t necessarily a web-browser in itself, as Apple has strict regulations on other types of browsing apps, users will be able to open those links within an in-app browser.
Additionally, the app will come with a so-called “Awesome Bar” that will allow users to search through browsing histories and any other information contained on the app, with website predictions provided based on that data.
Mozilla has not yet sent the app for Apple approval, which could mean a release is still several weeks away.
