A new survey from data analytics firm Sybase has found that mobile and smartphone users expect to use the Apple iPad for business purposes.
The survey of 2500 adult users found 52% said they would use a tablet device like the iPad for “conducting work”, with over 48% saying they would use it for watching films and other media content.
But the survey highlights one potential problem with using the tablet for business. While the majority of respondents said they would use a tablet device for work, about 60% said they could only access less than 10% of their personal data.
Additionally, more than 66% said they would be “more productive and better at my job” if they could access work data and apps.
Just under 75% said smartphones and tablets made workers more productive – about 11% said otherwise.
