View your cookies in Firefox

By now, you’ve probably heard about cookies. In layman’s terms, they’re small pieces of information stored in your web browser to help websites keep track of you.

Sometimes they’re used to store a session ID so the websites know when you’ve returned. At other times, they’re used to store your user name or password.

If you use Firefox, here’s how to see the cookies stored on your computer.

First, in the Tools menu, click Options.

Next, click on the Privacy tab at the top.

The middle section of this dialog box will be titled History, and will have a link that says “remove individual cookies.”

If you click this link, another dialogue box will pop up, allowing you see the all the websites you’ve visited. Click on any of the websites and the cookies that site is storing on your computer will be displayed.
