Celebrate your wonderful achievement

Old Taskmaster loves awards nights and the StartupSmart Awards is like no other event.

While Old Taskmaster always attends incognito (it wouldn’t do to have start-ups bombarding your Taskmaster with questions), I love to soak up the energy that new entrepreneurs throw off. It’s magic.

I am also a big believer in the power of celebration in business and so to all award winners and members of the top 50 list I say this – it’s time to party!

Tell your staff. Tell your customers. Tell your suppliers. Tell your bank manager. Tell your investors. Tell your board. Tell your mentors.

Tell your friends and family. Let them know their sacrifices make an important difference in the success of your business.

Tell yourself that you have achieved something. Give yourself a reward, even if it is just a long lunch.

If you didn’t make the list or take home a gong, don’t worry. I am sure there is something to celebrate in your business, like a successful deal or a new staff member.

Business is tough, so make sure you take every opportunity to revel in your success.
