Happy campers in Germany have opened the world’s first indoor caravan park.
Berlin’s urban camping hotel has caravans and huts in communal areas where guests can mingle, with lighted trees from which breakfast is hung each day.
The $76-a-night Hüttenpalast, or “Hut Palace”, is a hotel in an old vacuum-cleaner factory with a traditional campsite feel and designer caravans, its owners say.
“We give you a touch of summer feeling – even in winter – and retro-happiness as you sit and swing in front of the huts or walk in flip-flops with toothbrush to the beautiful showers,” the business says on its website.
“The Hüttenpalast can be booked for events of any kind: workshops, private parties, performances, concerts.
“We also have six generous rooms with en-suite bathrooms, sure to impress with their high-ceiling, large-windowed factory architecture.”
There’s certainly no shortage of caravan parks here in Australia, but have you ever seen an indoor one? Maybe the Hüttenpalast will spark a new trend.
