A Swiss firm has developed a rocking chair that charges your iPad or iPhone. The iRock generates power from the rocking motion and can recharge an iPad 3 to 35% in 60 minutes.
Designed by Micasa Labs, the iRock is handcrafted out of Swedish pinewood and comes in five colours.
“iRock is inspired by traditional rocking chairs and we designed it to resemble the classic, proven designed old rocking chairs,” a Micasa Labs spokesperson says.
“What we have added to the design is a generator that transforms the movement into power. We have equipped the iRock with an iPad stand and a set of built-in speakers in the back rest.”
Although currently under development, the iRock is expected to cost about $1,300.
iPad-inspired products are popping up all over the place. Why not create one of your own?
