Air Camera gets back to basics

A device dubbed the Air Camera strips away all the unnecessary aspects to a digital camera design, leaving only a Bluetooth-enabled camera lens and a motion-sensor shutter button mounted on two rubber bands.

Images are captured with a simple click gesture before being transferred to the user’s synced smartphone. The camera was designed by Yeon Su Kim.

“This camera consists of two modules. One is for a thumb and the other is for a forefinger,” writes Yanko Design.

“In the forefinger band, there is the tension-sensor which can recognise if the finger is bent or not. When you bend a finger like pressing a shutter, it senses the tension and takes photos.”

To take videos, the user simply curves their fingers to mimic a video camera grip and shoots. Again, the tension from the finger movement triggers the shutter button to operate.

Consumers are constantly on the lookout for simplified versions of their favourite products, which is why the Air Camera is such a winner.
