“Nice idea, but I can’t see it making any money” is a common refrain from start-up investors who are presented concepts that emerge from technology.

Blogs are, of course, the most common, and simple, tech ventures out there. And as entrepreneur Abby Larson was told, the chances of making money from them are virtually nil.

This didn’t stop Larson from making her wedding-themed blog, Style Me Pretty, into an international success story, taking it from a start-up that cost $9.99 to launch to a site with 1.4 million monthly visitors.

Elsewhere, mentor Julia Bickerstaff has some advice for aspiring entrepreneurs who hate their jobs and Brad Lindenberg, on the eve of launching his eCommerce venture BuyReply, outlines what he’s learned from the process.
