Gold-plated vacuum cleaner fit for a king

start-up-idea-gold-vacuumIt’s the golden gift for the cleaner who has everything – a gold-plated vacuum cleaner worth $US1 million.

US firm GoVacuum.com intends making just 100 of the 24-carat GV62711. It is being billed as the household tool for those with “a yacht in the ocean, and a rare exotic car in your garage”.

In addition to its dazzling appearance, it is claimed the device is also a solid vacuum cleaner in its own right, as it has a 10 amp motor and anti-marring urethane wheels.

GoVacuum.com insists the machine is the real deal.

“This isn’t a joke, a fake product or publicity stunt as many people have thought,” says Justin Haver, vice president of sales and marketing.

“Six months ago I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and was blinded by golden light in my half-asleep daze. I thought, why is there not a gold vacuum for sale?”

“So, it took us about six months to create the GV62711 24k gold-plated vacuum.”

“Is it worth its weight in gold? No, but even the status and exclusivity of owning a vacuum like this can’t be measured in dollar and cents.”

It’s safe to say a gold-plated vacuum cleaner isn’t high on the agenda for most consumers, but perhaps there’s an opportunity to launch other cleaning-related products of a luxurious nature.
