Frustrated people can now phone a swearing hotline and blow off steam by abusing an operator at the other end.
The “Schimpf-los” (German translation of “swear away”) service was created by two German entrepreneurs who realised everyday people need an outlet to release their pent-up frustrations.
“With us you can blow off steam, no strings attached. We don’t judge people who are angry,” says Ralf Schulte, who set up the hotline with Alexander Brandenburger.
Schulte and Brandenburger found inspiration in their own stressful daily routines.
When callers find themselves tongue-tied, operators on the hotline prompt them with provocations such as, “That’s the third time I’ve heard that today – is that all you’ve got?”
The service costs 1.49 euros a minute, which, according to Schulte, is a bargain.
While we’re not suggesting you set up a hotline to let people vent their frustrations, it does suggest there is a demand for services that can alleviate some of the stress people face every day.
Why not set up your own stress-alleviating service?
