The growing trend for gadgets around the home to be “smart” has reached the baby monitor.
French company Withings has built one to industrial design standards that Apple would be proud of, with a bunch of nifty features.
Its high-resolution video, digital sound and night light can all be controlled using an iPhone. Alerts can be set to notify parents when their baby is crying.
It also monitors the environment, including temperature and humidity.
“Smart Baby Monitor brings you the best technology for optimal child protection. You can move about the room or zoom in with the wide-angle lens,” the website says.
“You can interact with your little one from your iPhone. You can now talk with your child, start a lullaby or switch on a night light while looking at him.”
This device could prove useful for time-poor parents. What other devices might help people meet their parenting responsibilities?
