Landing a CSIRO tender is tough enough, even if you’re not a 23-year-old entrepreneur with a business that’s less than a year old.
But South Australian Jarrad Morgan has made great strides already with his construction firm SA Construct and plans to complete $3.2 million revenue for the financial year.
The projects are coming thick and fast for Morgan, with the CSIRO tasking him with building the Australian Square Kilometre Radio Pathfinder Observatory.
Other eye-catching work includes a house building project that is being filmed for TV show Grand Designs and a huge commercial cladding undertaking.
Morgan has tackled this rapid ascent by himself, handling all the ordering, project management, accounting and administration before handing tasks onto a team of tradesmen.
He’ll be getting a bit more of a hand after being recently accepted onto the SA Young Entrepreneur Scheme, but it’s clear that Morgan’s entrepreneurial career is going places.
“As a person I have a very strong drive for business,” he says. “I love working towards a goal and I thrive on challenge and responsibility.”
“Furthermore, as I meet people that doubt me, it gives me more encouragement to prove them wrong.”
